The first LTA (Learning and Teaching Activity took place in Portugal, S. João da Madeira, from 12/03/2018 to 16/03/2018.
In the morning the host school organized a short welcome event for the mobility participants, who were greeted by the school headmistress, Anabela Brandão, and the project coordinator. School students played and sang to all participants.
In this welcoming event, the City Mayor, Jorge Sequeira and school headmistress, Anabela Brandão, welcomed all the participants to the city.
All the international teams made a presentation about their own countries, schools and themselves.
After a short break, the program focused on social bonding and interaction as students got involved in various social games, named “New Friends Revealed”.
All the students and teachers had lunch at the school canteen. After lunch, students attended to the first part of the lesson organized by the Austrian team about how to make a business plan.
After a break, all the students and teachers participated in the presentation of the Social Entrepreneurship Project, “Dress a Girl Around the World”, as well Folk and “Tuna” demonstration, presented by the Senior University. Also, the students could interact with the elders from the Senior University.
The second day focused on understanding some social entrepreneurship initiatives in the Porto region. During the first half of this day’s program, the participants’ attention was directed towards Castle of Santa Maria da Feira and the chapel of “Senhor da Pedra” near the sea. Furthermore, the importance of implementing ways of preserving the patrimony engaging people on his history was stressed. Participants visited some of the most iconic points of Porto city, where they learnt about social entrepreneurship initiatives.
he program of the third day focused on school activities. The day began with the second part of the lesson organized by the Austrian team about how to make a business plan. After a short break, the students participated in a ICT workshop, present by the Portuguese team, where they learned how to build a webpage.
After lunch, they participated in an activity in Santa Casa da Misericordia, with the elderly. Each country presented an activity designed for the elderly, and the importance of social volunteering was stressed.
At the end of the day, a lecture was presented by a local social entrepreneurship company, “Ecos Urbanos”.

On day four, participants visited “Passadiços do Paiva” and learned about the Geoparque de Arouca social entrepreneurship initiatives. Because of the weather conditions, all the participants returned to school after lunch.
The final dinner took place around 20:00pm with all the participants, Portuguese teachers and the hosts families, as well as representatives of the city hall and some local social entrepreneurship companies.
e final day of mobility took participants to “Paços da Cultura”, a local auditorium. There, all international teams participated in “Red Nose” workshop, presented by Mark Mekelburg, one of the founders of this international organization.
After the participants had lunch at school canteen, they had free time with their hosts families.

- The aims of the mobility:
- To improve digital skills and ICT literacy;
- To develop presentation skills, growth of self-confidence when meeting strangers, working in a new environment;
- To enhance the international dimension of education and training, in particular through cooperation and sharing good teaching and learning practices from all the partners;
- To facilitate the development of skills and competences of non-formal and formal learning;
- To develop innovative approaches in learning through fieldwork and practical training;
- To improve foreign language and cooperation skills and share good practices of learning from different European backgrounds;
- To broaden understanding of practices, policies and systems in education, training or youth across countries;
- To increase the sense of capacity to trigger changes in terms of international opening within the participants’ educational organizations;
